Tourists in Spain have been hit by an unexpected problem that has disrupted their holidays. It’s left many confused, as they had plans to soak up the tropical sunshine
Tourists in Spain have encountered an unlikely problem that completely threw off their holida y plans, blindsiding some of them with something unforeseen .
The issue was recently brought to light on TikTok by a woman named Paula, who was eager to highlight what has been unfolding as she most likely anticipated sunshine, tan lines, and relaxation while abroad.
Just days ago, another tourist confessed she couldn’t believe her luck while attempting to soak up the sunshine.
Sharing footage from her vantage point in Majorca, Paula said: “Come to Majorca in May, they said.” She then followed up with clips of overcast skies, admitting it had rained for three out of the five days she’d been there.
Although she managed to see the funny side, she drew attention to a particular concern, which sparked considerable debate in the comments section.
One person said: “Been here a week. Going home today. The rain has been a joke.”
Another added: “It was exactly the same last year.” Meanwhile, a third commented: “Just got back from Menorca. We had one day (our last day) to actually sunbathe and use the sun cream we took.
Paula didn’t win over every viewer, as she was met with people continuing to sing the praises of this beloved destination, with some reporting relaxing breaks there at the moment.
One person wrote: “It’s not been that bad.” Someone else also replied: “So sorry, but we don’t control the weather.”
Majorca’s weather is generally warm and beneficial throughout May, which is why tourists may have been caught off guard. Holidaymakers can typically expect warm, sunny days with average highs of 23°C to 25°C.
It’s an excellent time of year for sightseeing and outdoor activities, without the sweltering heat of mid-summer. While brief, odd showers remain possible, evenings can turn cool once the sun goes down.
However, a number of tourists have reported encountering considerable rainfall during their visits. Ultimately, though, the weather remains entirely beyond anyone’s control.
At this time of year, Majorca typically enjoys nine to 10 hours of sunshine daily, and it remains an enormously popular destination.
As the largest of the Balearic Islands, it is renowned for its more than 200 beaches, sunny climate and lively nightlife, drawing visitors predominantly from Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.
