Dehradun police and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested a drug peddler with banned intoxicating capsules and tablets in Dehradun on Thursday. The accused was identified as Dilshad, a resident of Brahmpuri area under Patelnagar police station.

On receiving a tip-off, the ANTF team reached the Harbanswala Tiraha area in Vasant Vihar and stopped a suspicious man for checking.

During the search, police recovered 960 capsules of Acetaminophen, Tramadol HCL and Dicyclomine HCL, along with 975 Alprazolam tablets from his possession. Police said that these medicines were banned and were being kept illegally. The accused failed to give satisfactory answers regarding the recovered drugs, police said.

Police arrested him on the spot and registered a case under the NDPS Act at Vasant Vihar police station. “He was planning to sell them at high prices to students studying in educational institutions and to local drug addicts,” a police officer said.
